Mother Teresa to be granted sainthood this year

Indore, Sep 10: Missionaries of Charity Founder Mother Teresa may be felicitated with sainthood by this year end, according to United Christian Forum for Human Rights.

In a prayer assembly organised here last night to pay tributes to Mother Teresa on her 10th death anniversary, Forum President Fr Claurance Shrambical said there was probability of conferring sainthood to her posthumously. Catholic church had already recommended sainthood to her in October. 2003.

A demand was also raised to name Indore's White Church square and Old Sehore road after Mother Teresa, according to Forum spokesperson Suresh Carlton.

Indore diocese Bishop Rev George Anathil, Church of North India's Bhopal diocese Bishop Rev L Medha were also present in the prayer assembly.
