Moser Baer forays into PC peripherals market

New Delhi, Sept 10 (UNI) Foraying into the PC peripherals industry, country's leading optical storage manufacturer Moser Baer today launched Optical Disk Drive (ODD) and plans to capture 20 per cent market share of present market size of five lakh units per month.

The company has launched the product in partnership with Taiwan's Philips&Lite-On Digital Solutions Corporation.

''We are is now leveraging upon our existing synergies, established brand equity and large distribution network in the domestic market to enter the PC Peripherals market,'' company's Chairman and Managing Director Deepak Puri said.

The IT vertical industry (PCs and Notebooks) is pegged at Rs 20,000 crore and the PC Peripheral industry is worth Rs 12,000 crore.
