LS mourns loss of lives in Hyderabad, Rajasthan accidents
New Delhi, Sep 10 (UNI) The Lok Sabha today mourned the death of 86 pilgrims in a road accident in Rajasthan on September 7 and ten people in a bridge collapse in Hyderabad yesterday.
Making a reference to the accidents, Speaker Somnath Chatterjee said 86 people lost their lives and 61 were injured when a truck carrying about 150 pilgrims to the annual fair of Babaramdeo temple in Jaisalmer fell into a deep gorge in Rajsamand district of Rajasthan.
In another incident, about ten people died when a girder collapsed at a bridge construction site in Hyderabad yesterday, he said.
The House then stood in silence for a short while as a mark of respect to the departed souls.
