LIC employees may go for stir on recruitment

Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, Sep 10 (UNI) LIC employees will go on a nationwide strike if the Centre did not issue a notification for recruitment by December 2007, according to sources in the All India Insurance Employees Association (AIIEA).

They claimed there had been no recruitments for the last 14 years due to government policies with about 16,000 vacant posts yet to be filled up.

The Centre had not given its approval though the management of the LIC was willing to fill up about 6,000 posts, they said.
