Hyd twin blasts: 20 terrorist sympathisers held

Hyderabad, Sep 10 (UNI) The Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing the August 25 twin blasts that rocked the city, have arrested 20 terrorist sympathisers on the charge of providing logistics support to terrorist outfits.

Sources said the sympathisers had been providing assistance to Harkat-Ul-Jihadi Islami (HUJI) and Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), the organisations suspected to be behind the May 18 Mecca Masjid blast and the twin blasts, since last year.

They had played a vital role in the twin blasts by assisting the bomb planters. They were believed to have recruited youth by promoting the ideologies of the terrorist outfits and circulating Jehadi propaganda, the sources added.

All the arrested had provided help to HUJI Commander Shahed, alias Bilal, the mastermind behind the blasts, operating terrorist activities from Bangladesh.
