HUL says it has not sold marine biz to TFL

Mumbai, Sep 10 (UNI) Consumers goods major Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) today clarified that its marine business has not been sold to Temptation Foods Limited (TFL).

HUL, in a statement here today, said few months back it had obtained shareholders' approval for an ordinary resolution to transfer the marine undertaking of the company engaged in the business of manufacture and sale of marine products in export markets. ''This was an enabling resolution,'' the company said.

It said the company was in the process of considering suitable options in this regard.

As part of this process, TFL had submitted a binding-bid.

''Later, the talks with Temptation Foods failed to deliver successful outcome in the course of time. Consequently, the binding-bid submitted by TFL was terminated last month,'' the company said in the release.
