Health Minister orders probe into Safdarjung Hospital incident
New Delhi, Sept 10 (UNI) Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss today ordered an inquiry into death of three members of a family, including two children, outside the burns ward of Safdarjung Hospital, allegedly after being refused treatment due to lack of beds.
''The Minister has asked the Director General of Health Services to order an inquiry into the incident,'' Health Ministry officials said.
The patients were a part of a family of seven, who had come from Agra for treatment after a cylinder burst.
A relative of the patients said only two patients were admitted to the hospitals due to non-availability of beds.
''We did not know which other hospital to take them to and by the time we figured out the other hospital, the three had died,'' he said.
The rest of the patients are now undergoing treatment in Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.
