Haryana: Allocation for SC/BC increased to Rs 100 cr

Chandigarh, Sep 10 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said the state government had enhanced the budget allocation for welfare of the Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes from Rs 16.75 crore in the year 2004-05 to Rs 100 crore during the current financial year.

Mr Hooda stated this while addressing a mammoth 'Guhla Vikas Rally' at Gulha in district Kaithal today.

He said the state had attracted an investment of Rs 28,000 crore during the last 30 months and an investment of Rs 60,000 crore was in the pipeline.

The government had set a target to attract an investment of Rs two lakh crore and provide employment opportunities to 20 lakh people. He said that congenial environment for the development of industries had been created and new industrial policy had been implemented in the state which had got encouraging response.

Mr Hooda said that he had set a target to make Haryana number one in the country in all spheres of development in the country.

He sought wholehearted cooperation of the people in achieving this goal and urged them to work in a team spirit.
