Female militant reveals Hizbul's wide network in Jammu City
Jammu, Sep 10 (UNI) The first ever female militant of the Hizbul Mujahideen to be apprehended, Nahida Altaf, a 21 year-old Law student, has revealed that the militant group has set up a wide network in the city.
During interrogation, Nahida and her lover HM ultra Altaf Ahmed, told a police team that HM militants have created a wide network within Jammu city and its outskirts, sources said.
Nahida also disclosed during her questioning that she had managed a militant hide-out at Janipura main stop and Fayyaz Ahmed Talakh alias Tallah, who had to receive explosives smuggled by Nahida, was staying in a city hotel, sources added.
She also revealed that another top HM militant Bhatti was living at Subash Nagar in the winter capital, sources said adding that police raided Bhatti's residence in the presence of Nahida but he had gone underground the day the Law student was apprehended.
Bhatti, a very close associate of Altaf Ahmed and a resident of Gounthal, Surankote, lured Nahida into militancy and made her visit Altaf and other HM ultras in Kot Bhalwal jail five to six times, sources said.
However, a search operation was on to apprehend Bhatti and raids were being conducted at various places as his arrest was crucial to crack entire HM network the Jammu, the sources said.
Bhatti's house in Subash Nagar was also being used as an active hide-out of HM outfit and was frequented by the militants from Surankote and Mendhar during their trips to Jammu to create and strengthen outfit's network.
Police also continued a hunt for Tallah, the owner of Talakh Bakery at Lal Chowk, Anantnag and a canteen at Dayalgam Boys higher secondary school.
Nahida was apprehended by Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police at Tanda in Akhnoor with several grenade launcher (UBGL) and eight rifle grenades which were being smuggled by her from Surankote to Jammu.
Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM)'s all India operational chief Saif Ullah Qari, who was killed last month in an encounter, and his injured associate Zaffar Iqbal, both Pakistanis had set up an hideout at Ramjan Pura in the Janipura area of the city.
