Emirates Airlines to start operations from Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, Sep 10 (UNI) Dubai-based Emirates Airlines today announced the launch of its operations from Gujarat, the ninth destination from India, to tap the growing travel market.

The Airlines will offer both cargo and travel services and operate six flights per week except Wednesday. The Airlines plans to operate A330-200 and Boeing 777-200 aircraft on the sector.

A road show for travel and cargo agents was also organised by the Airlines today, which will open its office from October 28.

The Airline has introduced special introductory fare of Rs 14,995 between Ahmedabad and Dubai on Economy Class and Rs 34,995 for Business Class.

Mr Salem Obaidalla, Vice President, Commercial West Asia and Indian Ocean of the Airlines, said the introductory fair will be vaild till December 15 this year.

He said that the Airlines has embarked on a major expansion in India and already operating its services from eight desinations including Mumbai and Delhi.

''We are delighted with the response from Ahmedabad's travel trade, who have already shown overwhelming interest in all its products including cargo,'' Mr Salem said.

The flight from Ahmedabad will depart at 0425 hrs and arrive in Dubai at 0610 hrs. The return flight from Dubai will depart at 2255 hrs on all days, except Tuesday, and arrive at Ahmedabad at 0310 hrs next day.
