EIL launches electric two-wheeler 'YOSpeed'

Ahmedabad, Sep 10 (UNI) Electrotherm India Limited (EIL), India's leading electric vehicles manufactures, today launched yet another flagship product, ''YOSpeed'' in the presence of cine actor Gulshan Grover.

''YOSpeed'' is India's first ARAI-approved electric 2-wheeler in 750w category. This ''No Petrol Scooter'' with 33AH battery and a 750 watts motor has power to seat two and runs for 500 kms in 1-litre petrol cost, claimed EIL managing director Shailesh Bhandari while speaking to reporters here today.

The launch of ''YOSpeed'' will bring electric vehicles into the mainstream two-wheeler market, he said adding that ''YOSpeed'', with its high power, high speed and 2-seater features, will compete with the regular petrol 2-wheelers in the 75cc-100 cc segment.

''YOSpeed' will be available across India through our 200 plus exclusive Showrooms, the YOWORLDs,'' Mr Bhandari said.

''YOSpeed is intended to bring the typical male scooterette user to start using the electric vehicles for his daily use and make substantial savings. YOSpeed's peppy colours and super styling will make it equally attractive to college girls,'' EIL director Avinash Bhandari said.

Speaking on the occasion, ''Bad Man'' of Bollywood Gulshan Grover who features in the TV commercial of ''YOSpeed'', said, Electric vehicles have tremendous social relevance. ''Petrol is depleting fast and the whole world is working towards finding alternative energy sources,'' he pointed out.
