DPS R K Puram alumni, Nigerian arrested for peddling drug

New Delhi, Sept 10 (UNI) In its continuing drive against drug peddling in the capital, police have arrested six people, including a Delhi Public School alumni and a Nigerian, and seized heroin and cocaine worth over 60 lakhs.

In the first incident, Vivek Sarin who had studied in DPS - R K Puram and a Nigerian national Nnamdi Slave were arrested on September 8 from the swish Greater Kailash locality in South Delhi while they were exchanging cocaine, police said today.

The arrests were made following a tip-off.

During interrogation Sarin revealed that he hailed from an affluent family and was the Managing Director of a firm in Faridabad.

Slave said he was a club level football player in Nigeria and had come to India early this year to try his luck in a club here, but after failing to make it he took to drug peddling.

In the second incident, Wasim, son of notorious drug peddlar Sharafat Sheikh, and three others, including a woman, were arrested yesterday while they were moving in a suspicious manner in North Gonda.

Their search led to the recovery of 600 grams of heroin worth nearly Rs 60 lakh in the international market, the police added.
