Cane & Bamboo Technology Centre imparts training to farmers

New Delhi, Sep 10 (UNI) The Cane and Bamboo Technology Centre (Guwahati)- a designated Bamboo Technical Support Group (BTSG)- has imparted lead Farmer level training to 21, 27, 63 and 19 farmers of Mizoram, Manipur, Sikkim and Orissa respectively, the Lok Sabha was informed today.

Minister of State for Agriculture Kanti Lal Bhuria in a written reply said the National Bamboo Mission (NBM) has so far not selected any Centre for setting up of Bamboo product Development (BPD) in the North Eastern Region (NER).

During 2007-08 the NBM has supported 22 states and three BTSG projects one each in Assam, Kerala and Uttarakhand.
