BJP seeks judicial probe against Cong MP

Chandigarh, Sep 10 (UNI) The Haryana BJP today demanded a judicial probe headed by a sitting High Court judge against Congress MP Atma Singh Gill who was found with two women in a rest house in Narwana recently.

The party also urged the Lok Sabha Speaker to disqualify Mr Gill from the house.

A BJP delegation met Haryana Governor A R Kidwai and urged him to order a judicial probe headed by a sitting High Court judge against Mr Gill for his ''immoral conduct.'' Talking to newspersons here, Haryana BJP spokesman Ram Bilas Sharma said the party leaders would also meet Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee to urge him to disqualify the Congress MP.

''Mr Gill's conduct violated all social norms and conventions and the people all over the state have protested against his shameful behaviour,'' he said.

The BJP also demanded action against Narwana authorities who allegedly helped Mr Gill in ''fleeing from the rest house'' when he was gheraoed by hundreds of people, he added.

Mr Sharma also criticised the Bhupinder Singh Hooda government for ''deteriorating'' law and order situation, allegding atrocities on dalits and crisis of water and electricity in the state.
