APCC Chief's son arrested, case handed to CBCID
Hyderabad, Sep 10 (UNI) The city police today arrested Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President and MP K Keshava Rao's son Venkat from a corporate hosptial, where he was undergoing treatment, in connection with a murder case and the case was handed over to CBCID.
Police said Venkat was arrested from the Appolo hospital after the murder case was registered against him, based on a complaint lodged by parents of Prashant Reddy, who was shot dead at Venkat's house under suspicious circumstances.
According to a release from the Chief Minister's office, the state govenrment had decided to hand over the death case of Prashant Reddy to CBCID (state).
Venkat was admitted to the hospital, in an unconscious condition yesterday, immediately after his friend and business partner Prashant Reddy was shot dead at his house.
Police had taken Venkat to Jubilee Hill police station amid tight security to interrogate him in connection with the murder.
The doctors found bullet injuries on Prashant's right temple when he was brought to a corporate hospital, which later declared him brought dead yesterday.
Prashant is the cousin of former Indian Volleyball Captain Ravikanth Reddy, who had a running feud with Venkat over a land issue.
