6 ultras and a soldier killed, 4 CRPF constables injured in

Srinagar, Sep 10 (UNI) Troops foiled a major infiltration bid, second during the past 24 hours, when they gunned down four heavily armed militants in Baramulla sector early this morning.

In other militancy related incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, an Army jawan was killed and four security force personnel were injured while security forces arrested four militants during the past 24 hours.

An official spokesman said militants attacked a security force patrol party at Rajwara, Handwara, in the frontier district of Kupwara today. Troops also returned the fire and in the exchange one soldier was killed and another wounded. Militants managed to escape.
