59 advocates held for staging road roko

Udhagamandalam, Sep 10 (UNI) As many as 59 advocates were arrested for staging a road roko at Cheran cross here for over an hour, condemning the Centre for not laying proper roads between Coimbatore and Gudalur via Udhagamandalam.

The route was declared a National Highway an year ago.

While 19 advocates were arrested at Coonoor for staging a similar agitation, 11 advocates were held at Gudalur, police said.
