Nuclear deal is a threat to the nation: CPI(M)

Samastipur, Sept 09 (UNI) CPI (M) Legislator party leader Ramdev Verma today said that Indo-US nuclear deal is a threat to the sovereignty of the nation.

Speaking on the issue in a seminar, Mr Verma said here that the deal would debar the scientists of the country to work on nuclear research programmes in indigenous laboratories.

Left parties were committed for the national security and ready to sacrifice for sovereignty of the nation, the left leader maintained.

Senior CPI leader Ramchandar Mahto has said in the seminar that the Indo-US nuclear deal would adversly affect the Non-Alignment as well as foreign policy of India. The signing of the dealby US was to dominate in international politics.

It would certainly give economic edge to the US for dominating world market, he commented.
