Haryana govt to link Faridabad to Delhi with metro rail

Faridabad, Sep 9 (UNI) The Haryana government has drawn up an ambitious plan to link Faridabad city with Metro Rail services with Delhi and Gurgaon.

This was revealed by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda while addressing a mammoth public meeting at Mujesar near here today.

Mr Hooda said that the first phase of the metro rail project, would be from Delhi to YMCA building in the city and in the next phase, it would be extended upto Ballabgarh. This project would cost Rs 1387 crore.

The Chief Minister said that the ambitious Jawahar Lal Nehru Urban Development Renewal Mission Scheme costing Rs 2700 crore had been sanctioned for the development of Faridabad city and it was expected that later on its cost would be increased to Rs 3000 crore.

He revealed that 3248 residential units for Bapu Nagar area in the city had been sanctioned and in all 5392 such units would be constructed. Besides, a scheme had also been envisaged for the beautification of city as also a solid wastement project was also being prepared.

Urban Development and Local Bodies Development Minister A C Chaudhary expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for providing liberal financial help for undertaking development schemes here.
