Gurdwara granthi murders woman in village

Amritsar, Sep 9 (UNI) A granthi today allegedly murdered a woman and injured her husband in Bhaini Matoo village of Tarn Taran district, police here said.

According to police sources, granthi Tara Singh after an altercation with drug addict Balwinder Singh, attacked him with a sword. However Balwinder's wife came in between the two and the sword pierced her, injuring her grieviously. She was rushed to a Amritsar hospital where she died.

Balwinder too suffered a cut on his arm in the attack, police said. The police arrested the granthi on murder charges.
