Datta wins battle, Brijesh retains Secretary post of KSCA

Bangalore, Sep 9 (UNI) In a set back to either warring group, last Scion of Mysore Royal family Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wodeyar was elected as President of Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) with his running mate being former Test cricketer Brijesh Patel, the present incombant.

In a keenly contested election here today, while legendary cricketer G R Vishwanath failed to out beat Mr Wodeyar, Patel managed to retain his position trouncing former national curator G Kasturirangan, who was put as a challenger to Patel by the Wodeyar group.

Though Patel managed to maintain his prominence he could not help Vishwanath get elected as President.

Beaming Wodeyar told newsmen that "we are happy that the voters had faith enough. Though we lost Secretary post, hopefully we will make the opposition group work in the right direction.

Roger Binny, who was elected as Vice President, expressing happiness on being elected as one of the Vice President said that "I am happy that I have been elected. No problem with mixed result.

We will sit together and work for betterment of the Karnataka Cricket. Whoever wins, Cricket is foremost in my mind. There wont be any problem with cohesion".
