3 criminals escaping after killing liquor trader, shot dead

Lucknow, Sep 9 (UNI) Police gunned down three history-sheeters, who were flying the coop after murdering a liquor trader in Khardauda area of Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh, this evening.

According to the police, three masked gunmen stormed into a liquor shop and started to decamp with the cash.

The notorious criminals shot dead Harpal Sharma, when he raised an alarm.

Acting on tip-off about the miscreants being en route to Hapur, cops cordoned off the jungles surrounding the Khardauda area. In the ensuing encounter, the trio were shot dead.

A pistol and a large number of cartridges were recovered from the spot.

The identity of the slain criminals could not be established, police added.
