TRCCC to take delegation to Cong president on Telangana issue

Hyderabad, Sep 8 (UNI) The Telangana Regional Congress Coordination Committee (TRCCC) will take a delegation to Congress President Sonia Gandhi and urge her to take a decision on the separate statehood for Telangana and honour the sentiments of people of the region.

Addressing a press conference, after a five-hour meeting of the TRCCC, APCC President and TRCCC Chairman K Keshava Rao said the meeting resolved to urge the Congress President for an early decision on the Telangana issue.

Stating that all members were of the opinion that separate state would be helpful for party along with development of the backward areas of the region, Mr Rao said he would go to New Delhi on September 10 and seek an appointment with Ms Gandhi and submit a memorandum.

The meeting also discussed several issues, including Nizam Sugar Factories, separate funds for the Telangana Regional Development Board, on the implementation of G O 610, Pothireddi Padu Head regulator, selling off lands in Telangana region he said.

He added that the meeting also resolved to urge the state government to take over four Nizam sugar factories in Telangana region and take steps to strengthen them.
