Mysore, Sep 8: Janata Dal (Secular) national President and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda today hinted that the power transfer to the coalition partner BJP in the state would not be easy and it would be decided only after his meeting with their party top leaders in New Delhi.

Addressing a Janata Dal (S) party workers meeting organised on the run upto the local body elections, he said he would soon be meeting former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Mr L K Advani and Mr Rajanath Singh to clarify from them whether the party would stick to the agreement made during the formation of the coalition government 20 months ago.

Stating that he had been watching the entire situation both inside and outside the government and how the BJP ministers and its leaders had been acting.

Mr Gowda pointed out many issues where the BJP ministers as well as the leaders were behaving irresponsibly and treating Janata Dal(S) workers badly in north Karnataka.

Mr Gowda also called upon the workers to be prepared for the elections any time not only to the state but also to the Parliament since the UPA government was under threat.

He said that Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy himself, realising his earlier mistake, had made the statement that the party High Command and other senior leaders would decide the transfer for powers to BJP during the next month.

He advised the party workers show their unity and strength by way of winning the maximum of seats in the local body elections which was scheduled on September 28.

The results of these local body elections would further strengthen the party in the state, he said.

Mr Deve Gowda asked the party workers and leaders to go to people for the elections and talk of the achievements of the party and the government particularly led by Mr Kumarswamy who has been reaching out to the people by way of his village stays. He opposed the proposed nuclear deal with the US and wondered why the Union government led by UPA was not ready for the Joint Parliament Committee to discuss and go into the details.

This deal has created complete fear among the people of the country, he said. UNI
