Three killed and 30 injured in an accident

Santiniketan, Sep 8 (UNI) At least three people were killed and 30 injured, when a lorry carrying villagers overturned on Panagarh-Moregram National Highway today.

The lorry, en route to Ilambazar in Birbhum district, skidded off the road in a bid to save a woman, said Superintendent of Police S S Panda.

The villagers were supposed to attend a CPI(M) rally at Ilambazar.

While two died on the spot, another succumbed to his injuries in Bolpur Sub-divisional hospital, where the injured, some of them critical, are undergoing treatment, he added.
