'RSS wholetimers to continue to work in BJP' : Rajnath
New Delhi, Sep 8 (UNI) Denying differences between the party and the RSS, BJP President Rajnath Singh today said there was no question of sending back the RSS whole timers to their organisation.
Scotching media reports to this effect, Mr Singh said the BJP and the RSS enjoyed complete 'harmonious relationship' and the reports of organisational discord were completly 'unfounded'.
''The RSS workers were working in the BJP on our request and there is no question of sending them back,'' he said.
When I took over the responsibility as the BJP President, I sought the help of RSS workers to work in the BJP. Only those who don't comprehend the relationship between the two could talk in this manner, Mr Singh told the 'Organiser', the RSS mouthpiece.
When questioned on the reports that the the RSS whole-timers would not work in the BJP, the BJP President questioned back '' Why will they not work for us when I myself have asked for RSS whole timers to work for the BJP? Infact, we need more RSS whole timers.
They have vast work experience''.
Claiming that the RSS does not interfere in the policy decisions of the BJP, Mr Singh said the decisions of the BJP are taken in the meetings of the BJP office bearers and the National Executives and not anywhere else.
To a question on indiscipline in the BJP in states, he said after 2004 elections there have been unsubstantiated reports indicating 'ideological illusion'. BJP even today stands by its stated ideological commitments. The Common Minimum Programme of the NDA was not that of BJP. The myth of dwindling of political strength of the BJP was exploded in the recent elections in Punjab, Uttarakhand and Delhi. However, some such incidents did occur and the BJP's political foes were referring it as indiscipline.
He, however, conceded of the 'small problems' in Gujarat and these would be resolved before elections scheduled for November.
'' The Himachal Pradesh elections were due in February 2008. BJP General Secretary Arun Jaitley and party incharge Om Prakash Mathur have been in in touch with party workers and cadres. I too have had interactions with ministers and MPs of BJP ruled states. I can affirm, everything is going to be fine there,'' Mr Singh said.
