Rotarians help Pakistani boy to undergo treatment

Bangalore, Sep 8 (UNI) The noble gesture of Rotarians in India had helped a 12-year-old Pakistani boy, suffering from chronic heart ailment to undergo an operation successfully at Narayana Hrudyalaya here.

Talking to newspersons Bangalore Rotary District Governor H Rajendra Rai said Tauseef Ahmed was one among the 15 Pakistani children, suffering from critical cardiac ailment, selected by Rotary Club of Chandigarh for providing free treatment in India.

Tauseef was diagnosed with 'Pulmonary Atresia' for which the treatment was not available both in New Delhi and Chandigarh.

After learning about Tauseef's case, the Bangalore Rotary District had decided to extend all help to the Pakistani boy and referred him to Narayana Hrudalaya.

The doctors there conducted over nine-hour-long critical surgery on the boy successfully.

''The boy has recovered and is now ready to fly to his home town situated in the hills of North-Western Frontier in Pakistan,'' he said.

Mr Mohammed Siddique, the boy's father, expressed his gratitude to the Rotarians and the team of doctors who saved his son's life.

''I am carrying back home the love and affection of the people here,'' Mr Siddique said.
