Shajapur, MP, Sep 8 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today warned that red tapism would not be tolerated in public welfare-related work.

Mr Chouhan, while addressing villagers during 'Jandarshan' programme here, said the government has represented common man and all sections of society. Hence, red tapism and negligence would not be tolerated.

Pointing out that the government was implementing welfare-oriented schemes related to education, health and rural development sectors, he claimed that the gender ratio -- which was 900 females upon 1,000 males -- was gradually improving.

The government's 'Ladli Lakshmi' scheme had helped in reducing discrimination between boys and girls.

Referring to government work in the education sector, Mr Chouhan said textbooks were being distributed for free to students of class I-class VIII.

Mr Chouhan heard the problems of villagers on the occasion. Some villagers complained that textbooks meant for free distribution had not been distributed so far although it should have taken place in July.

The Chief Minister sought details from the concerned officer and expressed displeasure.

Besides, villagers complained about irregularities in the Deendayal Upchar Yojna and Janani Suraksha Yojna.

Mr Chouhan had reached Kalapeepal from the state capital this morning to take part in the 'Jandarshan' programme. After visiting several villages, Mr Chouhan would halt at Mortakepadi village tonight and would return tomorrow.
