Nuclear deal again forces RS adjournment till 1200 hrs

New Delhi, Sept 7 (UNI) The Indo-US nuclear deal issue continued to derail Rajya Sabha proceedings today with the Opposition forcing adjournment of the House for the entire Question Hour for the third day in succession.

As soon as the House assembled for the day, the BJP-led NDA and the UNPA members vociferously raised their demand for the constitution of a JPC to examine the pact.

Although Chairman Hamid Ansari kept urging them to let the Question Hour proceed, the members stuck to their stand.

They said as the matter related to the country's security and sovereignty, it could not be left only to the UPA and the Left parties.

The Opposition members also accused the Government of ''humiliating and neglecting them''.

When the din continued, the Chair announced adjournment of the House till 1200 hrs.
