Mah Govt prepares plan on education for all: Purke
Kolhapur, Sep 8 (UNI) Maharashtra Education Minister Vasant Purke today said the state government has roughly prepared a plan on education right for all after a detailed study and it will be tabled in the state assembly for necessary steps.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Purke said the government had made the primary education free and compulsory so that it would benefit every child in the state.
The government was considering a proposal to deny government benefits to those parents who had failed to provide education to their children, he said.
Speaking at a function earlier organised at the Shivaji University here, the Minister said the state government was making efforts to improve the education quality in the rural areas, and added that as per the suggestions of the Kothari Commission report, the government will spend six per cent of its budget on education.
