Patna, Sep 08 (UNI) Major Left parties in Bihar organised rallies in all the district headquarters today, protesting the proposed joint naval exercise in the Bay of Bengal.

Adressing a rally here, CPI(M) state secratariat member Sarangdhar Paswan and his counterpart in the CPI Chakradhar Prasad Singh and several leaders of other Left parties, including the Forward Bloc, lambasted the Centre for agreeing to hold the joint naval exercise with the USA, Japan, Australia and Singapore in the Bay of Bengal and accused it of allegedly compromising with the sovereignty of the nation.

They also demanded immediate withdrawal of the proposal and said if the Centre did not backtrack from the proposed military exercise forthwith, more protests and rallies would be organised by them all over the country to garner majority public opinion against the government move.

Besides Patna, similar rallies and protest marches were organised in Darbhanga, Madhubani, Samastipur, Sitamarhi, East and West Champaran, Mazaffarpur, Hajipur and all other districts, where local leaders of various Left parties adressed the gathering.
