Mumbai, Sep 8 (UNI) A one-day fair on education in New Zealand was held here today, which saw the participation of 20 premier educational institutions from 'Down Under'.

The fair was inaugurated by Paul Vaughn, New Zealand Trade Commissioner.

''Indian students are smart, hardworking.... Last year 3,000 students from India enrolled in our universities, that means an increase of 30 per cent compared to the previous year,'' said Mr Vaughn.

The fair offered a number of undergraduate and post-graduate courses, including niche courses like viticulture, sports management and plant science, with 'world class education' at affordable costs to the country's students.

Similar fairs will be held at Bangalore tomorrow and at Chennai on September 11. There are approximately 1,00,000 Indians living in New Zealand, out of its total population of around four million. The country is trying to attract 30,000 immigrants every year.
