INLD cries foul over cases against party leaders
Chandigarh, Sep 8 (UNI) The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) today criticised the Haryana government for registering cases against two party ex-MLAs for protesting against Congress MP Atma Singh Gill who was found with two women in a Narwana rest house.
The Haryana Police had yesterday registered cases against former MLAs Bhag Singh Chhattar, Suraj Bhan Kajal and three other INLD activists for attacking and hurling casteist abuses on the Sirsa MP.
INLD state president Ashok Arora and INLD Secretary General and Ajay Singh Chautala demanded immediate withdrawal of the ''false cases'' against the INLD leaders and termed it an ''act of autocratic government to silence the people's voice.'' Meanwhile, the INLD activists held demonstrations against the incident at various places in the state and burnt effigies of Mr Atma Singh Gill.
