Haryana Housing Board to build houses for weaker sections
Chandigarh, Sep 8 (UNI) The Haryana Housing Board is constructing 2546 houses involving an investment of Rs 242.74 crore at Kurukshetra, Karnal, Sonepat, Bahadurgarh, Gurgaon and Faridabad.
A Board spokesman today said that these houses included triple storeyed flats, triple-storeyed flats for economical weaker sections, four-storeyed flats and duplex type low income group houses.
He said that housing schemes for 1590 dwelling units at Sonepat, Dharuhera and Bhiwani had been offered to public recently and their construction would be taken up shortly.
New housing schemes, he said, would also be taken up at Panchkula, Madlauda and Bawal and would be offered to the public shortly.
He said that Haryana Housing Board had already taken initiative to build safer and earthquake resistant houses. Use of solar water heating system had also been initiated in Group Housing Schemes.
The Housing Board had so far constructed 61,375 houses of different categories at 40 locations in the state and out of these 71.69 per cent houses were for the economically weaker sections of the society and low income group categories.
