Govt ready for 'peace talks' with naxals: AP CM
Hyderabad, Sep 8 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekahra Reddy today said the state government was ready to hold second round of ''peace talks'' with naxals if they were ready to eschew violence.
Dr Reddy, who called on former Chief Minister N Janardhan Reddy and his wife Rajyalaxmi at their house, told newspersons here that the government wanted to solve the naxal issue through dialogues.
''The extremists should shun violence and come forward to participate in the peace talks,'' he added.
Earlier, Janardhan Reddy who arrived here from Tirumala along with his wife after offering worship, told newspersons that '' violence will not serve their purpose and solve the problems of the comman man.'' Ms Rajyalaxmi said, ''The government will take action after the police submit the investigation report on the landmine blast.'' The ruling Congress held first round of 'peace talks' with the naxals immediately after it came to power in the state in 2004, though nothing fructified.
