Bangalore, Sep 8 (UNI) Former Karnataka Home Minister and Janata Dal (S) rebel leader P G R Sindhia, will join the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in the presence of the Party's National President and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Ms Mayavati, State BSP President B Gopal hinted here today.

Briefing about the party's preparedness for the coming local bodies elections in the state, Mr Gopal said Mr Sindhia, who had fallen out with JD (S) supremo and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, would extensively campaign for the party candidates in the election.

''Recently Mr Sindhia had attended the party's rally at Bidar and also addressed the gathering. In the coming local bodies elections, Mr Sindhia would extensively campaign for the success of BSP candidates,'' he claimed.

Mr Gopal said the BSP would contest the elections on its own strength and expressed confidence that the party would emerge as a deciding factor in various city corporations and municipalities.

Similar to the last assembly elections, no clear verdict would be arrived at in the local bodies elections, he said.

Expressing confidence that the Uttar Pradesh experiment in providing equal opportunity to all sections of the people in the society would also be followed in Karnataka, he said the Muslims would get their share of party tickets according to their population.
