Mysore, Sept 8 (UNI) Hundreds of farmers, who are on an agitation against a thermal power plant in Chamalapura, were brought to the city to watch a Kannada movie to educate them on the issue they were fighting.

They watched Vishuvardhan starrer -Mathad Mathadu Mallige- in a theater, which had organised the show exclusively for the farmers today.

They travelled to the city from various villagers in and around Chamalapura in tractors, tempos and bullock carts to watch the movie which deals with the farmers problems.

The KRRS President K S Puttaniah led the farmers and it was hoped that the film would inspire the farmers to intensify the agitation further against the project.

Director of the movie Mr Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar also watched the movie along with the farmers.

The farmers had parked about a number of tractors, auto rickshaws and other vehicles on the roadside without causing a disruption to the traffic in the city.

After the movie, a meeting was held at the theater complex and took a rally to the Deputy Commissioner office where they submitted a memorandum.
