Elderly woman killed, grandson kidnapped

Patiala, Sept 8 (UNI) An aged woman was killed and her grandson allegedly abducted from their house by unidentified persons here this morning.

According to the police, at least three persons entered the house around 0430 hrs, when 75-year-old Deepinder Kaur was in the puja room.

The miscreants attacked the woman with sharp-edged weapons and abducted her five-year-old grandson, Harprabh Jit Singh, police said.

The crime was discovered by the victim's widowed daughter-in-law, Sukhbir Kaur, a staff nurse in a local hospital, when she returned from night duty this morning.

According to her, she found her mother-in-law was lying dead, her son missing and the house completely ransacked.

A Few years back, Sukhbir's husband was killed in Khanna.

Her father-in-law is in the US with his second son.
