Death of prisoner, cases booked against Prison officials

Hyderabad, Sep 8 (UNI) The city police today registered cases under section 302 of the IPC (murder) against Cherlapalli jailer Haranath and warder Venkateswarlu for allegedly beating a prisoner to death.

Police said the cases were registered against the prison officials based on the medical and investigation report over the death of Bhaskar a prisoner.

The report confirmed that Bhaskar suffered injuries inflicted by the prison officials recently, police said adding the prisoner died in Osamania General hospital while undergoing treatment.
