Construction of Amity University campus to begin soon: CM

Shimla, Sep 8 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said his government is scrutinising the proposals for the setting up of quality educational institutions besides initiating the construction work of Amity University campus at Dharamshala.

Addressing the felicitation function organised by old students association of Government Post Graduate Degree College here last evening, he said efforts were being made to set up a central university here besides having one college in every assembly constituencies.

Mr Singh said his government had allowed to set up Amity University at Dharamshala to provide quality education to the students near their homes.

The Chief Minister claimed that the state government had opened a record number of government degree colleges during last two years in the rural areas of the state and provided Rs five crore each for building necessary infrastructure besides deploying all functional staff.
