AIADMK warns admn against 'non-removal' of hoardings
Puducherry, Sept 8 (UNI) AIADMK Puducherry unit secretary A Anbazhagan, MLA, today said the party would move a contempt of court suit against the government, if it failed to comply with the recent Madras High Court order on removing illegal hoardings in the town.
Talking to newspersons here, Mr Anbazhagan said the hoardings, erected to felicitate politicians on their birthdays and other occasions, continued to remain there even after the event.
Even in the case of PWD lands, it was essential to obtain permission of the municipality, he said adding the fees collected from them were very low, compared to Tamil Nadu and it should be enhanced.
He also demanded the revival of POTA, as suggested by party supremo J Jayalithaa, to curb terrorist activities.
