''Victim'' in Uma Khurana sting given 8-day judicial custody

New Delhi, Sep 7 (UNI) A Delhi court today handed down eight days' judicial custody till September 15 to the woman who had posed as a victim of the sex racket allegedly run by teacher Uma Khurana, in the fake 'sting' operation conducted by a private television channel.

The woman, Rashmi Singh, was arrested last evening and was produced in the court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Alok Agrawal.

She has been charged with cheating, fabrication of evidence and criminal conspiracy.

In the sting operation, conducted by the reporter of Live India channel, the accused had posed as a schoolgirl alleging that teacher Uma Khurana pushed her and other girls into prostitution.

The reporter Prakash Singh was also arrested earlier today.
