Two of marriage party killed, 25 injured

Tiruchirapalli, Sep 7 (UNI) Two persons of a marriage party, were killed and 25 others injured, four of them seriously, when a lorry in which they were travelling rammed against a tree near Rachandar Thirumalai village here today.

Police said the victims, hailing from Vadaseri Navalnaickenpatti village were on their way to Allithurai to attend a marriage, when the mishap occurred.

While Selvaraj (45) was killed on the spot, Ms Packiyalakshmi (65) succumbed to her injuries at Government Headquarters Hospital here, where all the injured were admitted.

The condition of four of them was said to be critical, police added.
