Two 'fake militants' arrested in Jammu

Jammu, Sep 7 (UNI) Police today arrested two ''fake militants'' in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, and recovered a large sum of money and valuables extorted by them from the innocent villagers.

SSP Doda Manohar Singh told UNI that the police had arrested Mohammad Ayoub Wani of Malikpura (Doda) and Irshad Ahmed of Gandoh (Doda), who were impersonating as militants and extorting money and valuables from the people at Tandla village in Gandoh area.

''Gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 15,000 besides Rs 20,500 in cash were seized from the duo,'' he said.

A toy AK rifle, a toy hand grenade and two lady costumes were also recovered from the possession of the 'fake militants', the SSP said, adding the duo were being questioned.
