Tourist from Kolkata commits suicide

Gangtok, Sep 6 (UNI) A tourist from Kolkata has allegedly committed suicide in a hotel room here.

The body of the deceased was found by the locals here who then informed the police.

The man had booked a room at the hotel last night at about 2230 hours. He had told the hotel employees that he was from Darjeeling.

''It is not clear whether suicide was committed this morning or last night itself,'' police said today.

Sikkim police was trying to accumulate more details from Kolkata police about the deceased.
