Strict action against corrupt public servants
Bhopal, Sep 7 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Government has decided to take strict action against public servants found guilty of corruption, irregularities and misconduct.
The decision was taken at a state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here on Wednesday.
The cabinet decided to reject the appeal made to the Governor by Arun Kumar Saxena against his compulsory retirement as District and Sessions Judge, Sheopur, an official release said here today.
The cabinet decided to permanently withhold 50 per cent pension of S R Sonwani, retired district coordinator, Scheduled Caste Welfare, Mandsaur, after a departmental enquiry found him guilty of committing various irregularities including appointment of 102 persons on daily wages against rules.
It was decided to withhold 10 per cent pension of Mr N K Pathak, retired SDO, Water Resources Department for five years for committing irregularities in purchase of cement during his posting in Umaria.
The cabinet decided to permanently withhold entire pension of Sudhir Kumar Bharadwaj, retired commercial taxes office, who was trapped by special police establishment of Lokayukta, Gwalior, while taking bribe and was later convicted by the court.
The cabinet decided to permanently withhold the pension of Mr R P Gupta, retired sub engineer, PWD. The court convicted him after an inquiry by the Lokayukta found him guilty of possessing property disproportionate to his known sources of income.
It was decided by the cabinet to permanently withhold the pension of Mr D K Singh, retired assistant engineer, PWD. The Lokaykta police had conducted a raid on his Shahadol residence and seized property disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Later, the court convicted him.
The cabinet endorsed action taken on the report of a departmental inquiry against Mr Sharat Chandra Shukla, retired principal, Higher Secondary School No 1, Bhind. The report found him guilty of financial irregularities.
He was punished with 25 per cent deduction in his monthly pension for three years.
The cabinet decided to withhold for five years ten per cent pension of Mr C L Chourasia, retired assistant grade-2, Chhindwara, endorsing the report of departmental inquiry against him.
The cabinet also decided to withhold for two years ten per cent pension of Chhote Singh Pawar, assistant grade-2 official in Ratlam district court, the release added.
