Sonia seized of Telangana, YSR not against Statehood: Congress

Hyderabad, Sep 7 (UNI) Maintaining that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was not against grant of statehood to Telangana, senior Congress leader and MP Sarve Satyanarayana, today said party President and United Progressive Alliance Chairperson, Sonia Gandhi, would take an ''appropriate decision at an appropriate time on the issue''.

''The Chief Minister is not at all against Telangana. We have all left it to Ms Gandhi for taking a suitable decision,'' he told a meeting in the presence of the Chief Minister.

Showering praises on Dr Reddy for striving all-round development of the State, the Dalit leader from Telangana said, had he been the Chief Minister 20 years ago, the demand for a separate Telangana State would not have cropped up at all. He wished that Dr Reddy continues as Chief Minister for 20 more years for the development of all regions of the State.
