Public can use Metro staff toilets at 13 stations: Minister
New Delhi, Sep 7 (UNI) Minister of State for Urban Development Ajay Maken today said the Delhi Metro Corporation has allowed staff toilets to be used by the general public at the 13 stations where toilets were not available.
Replying to a query in the Lok Sabha, he said toilets are available in all Metro stations except thirteen--Shastri Park, Pul Bangash, Pratap Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Kanhaiya Nagar, Kashmere Gate, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Pragati Maidan, Vishwa Vidyalaya, Civil Lines, Chawri Bazar and Mandi House.
Of these, construction of toilets is being taken up at nine stations, he said. However, as an immediate solution to the problem, the DMRC will allow the staff toilets to be used by the public, he said.
It may be A PIL had been filed in the Delhi High Court, which had given directions to the DMRC to allow use of Metro staff toilets.
The PIL filed in February, had sought direction to the government to provide basic amenities in the Metro stations.
