PLSA announces schedule of Lok Adalats, Labour Courts

Chandigarh, Sep 7 (UNI) The Punjab Legal Services Authority (PLSA) has announced the schedule of quarterly Lok Adalats and Labour Courts to be held in various districts of Punjab from October to December this year.

Disclosing this here today a spokesman of the PLSA said that in order to provide free legal services to the downtrodden people of the state all efforts would be made to spread awareness of various schemes of the Authority through seminars, awareness campaigns and legal literacy camps.

He added that for the convenience of public and to provide them speedy justice at their doorsteps, sixty-nine Lok Adalats would be organised on Saturdays at sub-division level and six Labour Courts on Fridays at various headquarters.

He informed that six Lok Adalats would be held on October six at Sangrur, Moonak, Barnala, Malerkotla, Dhuri and Sunam. In additiona four Lok Adalats would be held on October 13 at Ropar, Mohali, Anandpur Sahib and Kharar, five on October 20 at Amritsar, Patti, Ajnala, Baba Bakala and Tarn-Taran and six would be organised on November three at Mansa, Sardulgarh, Budhlada, Bathinda, Talwandi Sabo and Rampura Phul.

He further added that 12 Lok Adalats would be held on November 17 at Ludhiana, Jagraon, Khanna, Samrala, Gurdaspur, Batala, Pathankot, Ferozepur, Abohar, Fazilka, Zira and Jalalabad West. Eight Lok Adalats on December one at Jalandhar, Nawanshahar, Nakodar, Phillaur, Balachaur, Kapurthala, Sultanpur Lodhi and Phagwara and 11 on December eight at Patiala, Rajpura, Nabha, Samana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Amloh, Faridkot, Moga, Muktsar, Malout and Gidderbaha.

Three Lok Adalats would be organised on December 15 at Hoshiarpur, Garshankar and Dasuya.

He also informed that six Labour Courts would also be organised at various district headquarters on Fridays during the period.These would held at Amritsar on October five, at Bathinda on October 12, at Gurdaspur on November two, at Jalandhar on November 16 and at Ludhiana and Patiala would be held on December seven.
