New Delhi, Sep 7 (UNI) The Government was today urged to include among freedom fighters the names of all those people of 12 Malcha villages of Delhi who were forcibly evicted by the British during the freedom movement for the setting up of what is presently known as New Delhi.

Raising the issue during Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha, Mr K S Sangwan(BJP) said the British forces killed a large number of those freedom fighters, which included a large number of women of those 12 villages, and many people from those villages were forced to flee to adjoining Sonepat, Gurgaon and other areas and are now living in reduced circumstances.

He said the Goverment should declare all these people as freedom fighters and provide them with all the facilities they are entitle to. Apart from this, the Goverment must look into the land records of all those vilages and give them their due compensation, he added.
